Product Update: Chemcraft Launches Plasticolor® RTS Neutral Topcoat & Retires CHEMLIFE® 24 Series

Effective November 1, 2026, Chemcraft is introducing a key upgrade to its product lineup. The all-new Plasticolor® RTS Neutral Topcoat (117-69XX Series) is officially launching as a fully stocked product line, replacing the outgoing CHEMLIFE® 24 Plus Clear Topcoat (117-27XX Series) and CHEMLIFE® 24 Neutral Series (117-28XX Series).
At Pinellas Paint & Industrial Finishes, we view this transition as a step forward for the Chemcraft brand. This change directly resolves national color reproducibility challenges and provides cabinet makers, millwork shops, and professional refinishers with a significantly more stable, reliable coating platform.
What’s New: Chemcraft Plasticolor® RTS Neutral Topcoat ✨
Engineered for smooth, high-durability performance, the new Plasticolor® RTS ("Ready to Spray") Neutral Topcoat is built to withstand demanding interior cabinet and woodworking environments. Chemcraft expects this change will fix national color reproducibility challenges.

Superior Durability: Delivers a smooth, hardwearing surface with high resistance to mechanical damage, dry heat, household liquids, and office chemicals.
Exceptional Sprayability: Optimized for ease of application directly out of the container with a generous 8-hour pot life.
Environmental & Health Compliance: Formulated with low HAPS (Hazardous Air Pollutants).
Color System Integration: Compatible with Chemcraft’s MaestroHue color system. (Note: As MaestroHue formulations are finalized, use base 421-48XX in the interim, ensuring tint volume does not exceed 8%).

If your shop currently relies on the CHEMLIFE® 24 system, our technical team recommends taking the following steps to ensure a smooth transition:
For White-Based Colors — Use Plasticolor® White: Plasticolor® White remains Chemcraft’s tried-and-true standard for white and light-colored cabinet finishes. It provides outstanding coverage, high hide, and a rock-solid foundation.
For Dark Tints & Deep Colors — Transition to Plasticolor® RTS Neutral: Plasticolor® RTS Neutral (117-69XX) is designed specifically as the new, stable base for dark custom tints. Because CHEMLIFE® Clear was not inherently tint-stable, shifting to Plasticolor® RTS eliminates color-drift concerns.
Expect Slight Catalization Rate & Tint Adjustments: While switching bases means colors will tint slightly differently than before, this update eliminates long-standing batch-to-batch reproducibility issues across the brand—giving you far more consistent color matching from project to project.
